Charity copywriter

22 February 2011

Our reputation as experienced charity copywriters based on over five years working with Save the Children on international projects, has led to an approach from another leading international children’s charity.

The brief was to create a new communications cycle for Community Sponsorship donors, developing newsletter templates which will show them how their contributions are being used to change the lives of vulnerable children in specific programmes.

antwords has managed the whole content and design process. Working with the immensely talented and experienced team at Oyster Design, we scoped the project, creating a set of templates, which showed where various content would be used and how we would treat photography, maps and diagrams to fit with the clients internationally recognised Corporate ID.

Part of the brief was to also take real source material and photographs from a live project in Liberia to show how the templates would work with the limitations of what is currently available from the field.

Initial content, copy and designs had to be completed quickly in order for the project to be presented to an international forum in Nairobi.

On receipt of our first draft templates with a choice of mastheads and colourways, and the live Liberia newsletter, the client responded with an email stating:

Having now had chance to read through everything, the copy is superb, concise, informative and passionate. The emotion is carried in the stories themselves, or in the words of the people who are telling their own story. The vibrant palette looks stunning. Fab!”
